Box Score Phoenix, ARIZ. - The CSI Golden Eagles Baseball team was able to pick up their first win of the 2025 season as they knocked off Paradise Valley 5-3 in extra innings Tuesday afternoon. 
In their second straight game to go extra innings, the Golden Eagles were able to tack on multiple runs in the extra frame to propel them to the two run victory. Southern Idaho once again got the scoring started in the first inning as Jack Barker scored on an error. Paradise Valley was able to take their first lead of the game with a two run home run in the bottom of the fourth. Southern Idaho wasted no time regaining the lead as they tied it up on an RBI single from Barker, followed by Tayson Howard scoring on a wild pitch. The Pumas had an immediate answer as well as they plated another run in the bottom half of the fifth, a 3-3 tie that would hold through nine innings. In the extra frame, the Golden Eagles were able to load the bases with a pair of base hits and a hit by pitch. Jack Barker then continued his early season tear with a two RBI single that would stand to be enough to give CSI their first win. Barker finished the day 4-5, while Howard had a multi-hit day as well, going 2-5. On the mound, Mason Hartle gave four strong innings in starting duty, and the bulloen trio of Caden Fenger, Cooper Bartholomew, and Hayden Hudman combined for six innings of work, surrendering only two hits and one run while striking out four. Bartholomew was credited with the win, while Hudman picked up his first save of the year. The Golden Eagles will know shift their focus to their five-game series with Scottsdale Community College, beginning with a single game on Thursday.
