TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball Team gave third-ranked Northeastern Junior College a scare but couldn't quite pull off the upset, falling 25-19, 25-21, 26-24 Friday in the Starr Corporation Invitational.
Leading the way on offense were middles
Jada Thomas-Swinson and
Mina Benucci as well as outside hitter
Dorina Bogar. Bogar posted 11 kills. Thomas-Swinson and Benucci each had nine. Benucci also had four blocks and five digs.
Kelsy Stanger also had a solid match with seven kills.
On defense,
Hazuna Akishige led the Golden Eagles with 15 digs.
Kirsten Mullins had a game-high 33 assists.
The Golden Eagles, 3-7 overall, take on Northwest College at noon and second-ranked Miami Dade at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
