TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The CSI Women's Soccer Club came up just short in what would end up being their first loss of the young season to 16th-ranked Casper College on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles out shot the Thunderbirds in the first half, but Casper made the most of their minimal chances as they scored twice on just three shots to take a 2-0 lead into the half. CSI was able to break through early in the second half as
Jayva Hicks was able to follow up a shot attempt from
Elle Hokanson to cut the Casper lead in half. The Golden Eagles created some more chances throughout the second half but fell just short, in what was there first match up with a nationally ranked club. CSI finishes their opening weekend an even 1-1, and will now jump right into conference play against Truckee Meadows on Sept. 7th after a weekend off.Â
