SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The second-seeded College of Southern Idaho Softball Team used a big offensive day to run rule third-seeded Snow College 16-8 Monday in its opening game of the Region 18 Tournament.
The Golden Eagles pounded out 15 hits, including four home runs, and had five walks.
Tessa Hokanson was 2-for-2 with a double, home run, walk and four RBI. Her twin sister was 2-for-3 with a grand slam and four RBI.
Kenzee Hale was 1-for-2 with two walks and a home run and
Abbie Banning was 3-for-3 with a double, home run and four RBI.
Taya Manzanares was 2-for-3 and
Reagan Rex was 1-for-2 with a walk.
Eva Stoddard got the win in the circle, pitching the first 2.2 innings and giving up four earned runs on six hits with four strikeouts.
Abby Hayes pitched the final 2.1 innings, giving up four runs on five hits.
CSI will take on top-seeded Salt Lake CC at noon in the undefeated game Tuesday.
