CSI Softball wins two on sophomore day

TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The seventh-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball Team took care of business on sophomore day, beating Colorado Northwestern 13-3 and 11-0 Saturday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
In game one, Abbie Banning went 1-for-2 with a grand slam and five RBI. Tessa Hokanson was 1-for-2 with a home run as well. Markessa Jensen was 2-for-4, Tasha Hokanson was 1-for-1 with two walks and Reagan Rex was 1-for-1 with two walks. Rex also had three stolen bases. Markessa Jensen earned the win in the circle with three strikeouts. Eva Stoddard got the save, pitching three innings and giving up no runs on two hits with two strikeouts.
Hokanson stayed hot in game two, going 3-for-4 with a home run and one RBI. Jensen was 1-for-2, Christiansen was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI and Haylee Farnsworth was 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBI. Kenzee Hale was 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI.
Abby Hayes earned her 18th win of the season, going five innings and giving up no runs on one hit with four strikeouts.
CSI, 41-11 overall and 29-5 in conference play, travels to USU Eastern Thursday and Friday to finish up regular season play.
