CSI Softball takes all four from Snow College for the weekend sweep

EPHRAIM, Utah - The ninth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball Team got some big hits when they needed them to beat Snow 20-9 and 9-1 on Friday and 10-8 and 5-1 on Saturday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
On Friday, the Golden Eagles had no shortage of runs. In game one, Tessa Hokanson walked four times. Brylee Bigelow was 3-for-4 with three double and six RBI, Kenzee Hale was 3-for-5 with two RBI, Taya Manzanares was 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI, Reagan Rex was 1-for-2 with a triple and Markessa Jensen was 1-for-3 with a home run. Abby Hayes got the win, pitching three innings and giving up six hits with three strikeouts. Jensen also pitched two scoreless innings, giving up three hits with one strikeout.
Tasha Hokanson and Jensen had the big hits in game two. Jensen had a grand slam and Hokanson was 1-for-1 with a home run and two RBI. Eva Stoddard earned the win, pitching all five innings and giving up just one run on three hits with three strikeouts.
The Golden Eagles weren't as dominant at the plate on Saturday but had individuals step up.
Manzanares was 4-for-4 in the first game with a grand slam, a triple, two doubles and seven RBI. Rex was 2-for-3, Tasha Hokanson was 1-for-1 and Courtney Christiansen drew three walks. Jensen got the win, pitching three innings and giving up four runs on five hits. Stoddard came in for the save, pitching one inning and giving up no runs with two strikeouts.
Stoddard was brilliant again in the second game Saturday. The freshman got the win, pitching seven innings and giving up one run on six hits with four strikeouts. Jensen hit another home run for three RBI, Tessa Hokanson was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Kenzee Hale was 2-for-4 and Tasha Hokanson was 2-for-4.
Hale also recorded her 36th stolen base on the season to break the all-time season stolen base record that was held by Skylar Cook in 2017 when she posted 35.
CSI, 35-11 overall and 25-5 in conference play, will host Treasure Valley Tuesday for a non-conference doubleheader at 2 p.m. and Colorado Northwestern Friday and Saturday.
