SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The 11th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball Team never got its bats going, falling to sixth-ranked Salt Lake 5-1 and 7-1 Friday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles managed just four hits in game one, those coming from
Taya Manzanares,
Reagan Rex and
Tasha Hokanson. Manzanares was 2-for-3, Rex was 1-for-2 with a double and Hokanson was 1-for-3 with a double.
In the circle,
Abby Hayes got the loss, going 5.2 innings and giving up four earned runs on 10 hits with a strikeout.
CSI put six hits on the board in game two and gave up just eight but still couldn't get the timely hit.Â
Manzanares was 2-for-3 and Rex was 1-for-3.
Brylee Bigelow finished with the RBI single.
Eva Stoddard earned the loss, going six innings and giving up seven runs on eight hits with four strikeouts.
CSI, 29-11 and 19-5, has a chance to avenge Friday's losses Saturday in a doubleheader at noon.
