TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho battled to the end with Salt Lake in game one, before falling 5-4, and then couldn't get anything going in game two, losing 10-0 in five innings Friday at home.
The Bruins and Golden Eagles were tied going into the sixth inning but Salt Lake plated the decisive run and CSI had no answer.
Brody Duvall was 2-for-4 with a triple and
Colby Carter and
Jack Ryan each hit solo home runs.
Tyler Vance did a good job turning over the lineup in the nine-spot, finishing 2-for-3.
Shay Benson went five innings, giving up four runs on six hits.
Brennen Chappell got the loss, giving up one run in two innings.
Game two was all SLCC. The Bruins held CSI to just two hits, one each from Duvall and
Dax Newman.
Brock Snow got the loss, giving up five runs on four hits with three strikeouts.
CSI will look to bounce back against the 10th-ranked Bruins Saturday at 11 a.m. for a doubleheader.
