SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team lost to 14th-ranked Salt Lake 4-3 and 7-5 Saturday to complete the four-game Scenic West Athletic Conference series.
Tied through seven innings in game one, Salt Lake pushed across a run to win in the bottom of the eighth.Â
Eliot Jones was 2-for-3 and
Logan West was 3-for-4 at the plate.
Junior Garcia was 1-for-3 with a double.
Shay Benson pitched the first 4.2 innings, giving up no runs on one hit with four strikeouts.
Cooper Littledike earned the loss, pitching 2.1 innings and giving up one unearned run on two hits with a strikeout.
In game two, CSI led 5-4 into the fifth inning but the Bruins countered with three runs in the bottom half of the fifth inning and held on for the win.
Brody Duvall was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
Jack Barker was 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBI and
Tyler Vance was 1-for-2.
Dax Newman earned the loss, pitching 2.1 innings and giving up one earned run on three hits.
Kaden Cloward pitched the final 1.2 innings, giving up one unearned run on not hits with one strikeout.
On the day, CSI outhit SLCC 15-12.
CSI, 15-10 overall and 1-4 in conference play, travels to Treasure Valley Wednesday for a doubleheader.
