SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team came up just short in game one, losing 2-1, but fought back and took game two 8-3 Friday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles outhit the Bruins 6-3 in game one but just couldn't score their runners.
Jantzen Anderson had the lone RBI with a home run.
Jack Ryan was 1-for-3 with a double. On the mound,
Ashton Johnson took the loss, giving up the two runs on just three hits with five strikeouts.
CSI pitching was on point again in game two.
Garrett Miller pitched the first 4.2 innings, giving up three runs with four strikeouts and getting the win.
Malcolm Bartholomew dominated the final 4.1 innings for the save, giving up no runs on no hits with six strikeouts.
At the plate,
Eliot Jones had a home run,
Colby Carter was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI and
Jack Barker was 1-for-2 with a triple and RBI.
CSI, now 1-2 in conference play, will take on Salt Lake again Saturday for a doubleheader at 11 a.m.
