TWIN FALLS, Idaho -
Markessa Jensen only needed one run from her teammates but they gave her eight as she shutout USU Eastern 8-0 in game one of the doubleheader Saturday. The Golden Eagles run ruled USUE again in game two 14-6 to complete the Scenic West Athletic Conference weekend sweep.
Jensen allowed just four hits with two strikeouts in her game one win. At the plate she also had an RBI single.
Tasha Hokanson was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI and
Abbie Banning was 1-for-2 with a home run.
Tessa Hokanson was 1-for-2 with a double and
Taya Manzanares was 1-for-3 with a double.
Courtney Christiansen finished the game 1-for-1 with two walks.
The Golden Eagles trailed 4-2 into the fourth inning of game two. But the bats got hot and CSI put seven runs on the board in the fourth and five more in the fifth.
Tessa Hokanson, Banning,
Brylee Bigelow and Christiansen all had home runs in the win. Banning finished the game 3-for-3 with three RBI.
Reagan Rex was 2-for-3. Jensen and
Kenzee Hale were each 2-for-4.
Abby Hayes got the win in the circle, going 2.1 innings and giving up two runs on four hits with four strikeouts.
