RANGELY, Colo. - College of Southern Idaho Softball's
Tessa Hokanson set the all-time career record for doubles and the Golden Eagles run ruled Colorado Northwestern 14-4 and 18-2 Saturday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The sophomore finished the day with two doubles to take her career total to 43. She also holds the single season record of 28 she set as a freshman. The career record broke Mikkel Griffin's record of 42 she set in 2010-11.
For the day, the Golden Eagles pounded out 33 hits, including 10 home runs.
Leading the way was
Courtney Christiansen with 5 of the homers. She finished both games 6-8 with 10 RBI.
In game one,
Kenzee Hale had two home runs and five RBI,
Brylee Bigelow was 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI and
Abbie Banning had a home run.Â
Tessa Hokansan was 3-for-4 and
Tasha Hokanson was 2-for-3 with two doubles.
In game two
Haylee Farnsworth was 3-for-4 with a home run,
Markessa Jensen was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI and
Hailey Louder was 2-for-3 with a double.
Jensen got the game one win in the circle, going five innings and giving up one earned run on four hits with four strikeouts.
Eva Stoddard won game two, pitching all five innings and giving up one run on six hits with six strikeouts.
CSI, 23-9 and 13-3, hosts USU Eastern Friday and Saturday.
