YUMA, Ariz. - The College of Southern Idaho Softball Team improved defensively and in the circle this weekend, finishing up the Arizona Western Tournament with a 13-0 win over Glendale and a 7-3 win over Pima Saturday.
The Golden Eagles only gave up four runs all weekend but continued their torrid place at the plate.
Against Glendale, Eva Stoddard pitched the one-hit shutout and had plenty of run support behind her. Tessa Hokanson was 4-for-4 with two doubles, Kenzee Hale was 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, Brylee Bigelow was 2-for-2 with three RBI and Courtney Christiansen was 2-for-2 with a triple and three RBI. Tasha Hokanson was 1-for-1 and Abbie Banning was 1-for-2 with two RBI.
CSI was in a battle with Pima until the seventh inning when the Golden Eagles scored four runs to pull away.
Hale was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI, Jensen was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI and Christiansen was 1-for-3 with a home run.
Abby Hayes started the game, going 4.1 innings and giving up three earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts. Jensen came in to get the win, pitching 2.2 innings and giving up no runs on one hit.
CSI, 7-1 overall, is off this coming weekend before going to Florida the following weekend.
