FORT MYERS, Fla. - The College of Southern Idaho Softball Team dropped two games to top-ranked Florida Southwestern 10-2 and 9-0 Thursday in the Bucs home tournament.
The Golden Eagles struggled on defense all day, finishing with seven errors through both games. CSI gave up four unearned runs in the first game and seven in the second and struggled to find some offense to counter it.
In game one,
Abbie Banning was 1-for-1 with a walk, a home run and two RBI.
Reagan Rex was 1-for-1 and
Kenzee Hale was 1-for-2 with a stolen base.
In the circle,
Abby Hayes earned the loss, going 3.2 innings and giving up six earned runs.
Markessa Jensen pitch the final 1.1 innings, giving up no earned runs with one strikeout.
In game two,
Eva Stoddard started in the circle, giving up 2 earned runs in 1.2 innings. Jensen threw 2.1 innings, giving up no runs on two hits with one strikeout.Â
At the plate,
Tessa Hokanson was 1-for-2 with a double and Jensen was 1-for-2 with a double. Rex was 1-for-2.
CSI, 7-3, takes on Miami-Dade and #10 Indian River Friday.
