CSI Baseball wins eighth game in a row

TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team completed the weekend sweep against Yakima Valley with 8-3 and 10-6 wins on Saturday.
In game one, Shay Benson earned the win on the mound, going five innings and giving up just one earned run on three hits with nine strikeouts. Brennen Chappell pitched the final two innings, giving up one run on two hits with two strikeouts.
Offensively, Logan West was 3-3 with a double and two RBI. Junior Garcia was 1-for-3 with two RBI, Colby Carter was 1-for-2 with a triple, Jack Barker was 1-for-2 and Tyler Vance was 1-for-3 with two RBI.
CSI took control early in game two behind the dominant pitching of Brock Snow. The Freshman pitched three innings, giving up no runs, no hits with five strikeouts. The Golden Eagles scored 7 runs in the first three innings so when he left the game it seemed the Golden Eagles would roll.
But CSI struggled a bit on the mound with control, going through seven more pitchers. Still, they would only give up six runs and CSI scored three more the rest of the way to secure the win.
Eliot Jones was 1-for-1 with an RBI, Brody Duvall was 2-for-3, Barker was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Vance was 1-for-2 with an RBI.
The Golden Eagles, 14-6 overall, open Scenic West Athletic Conference play next Friday when they host Southern Nevada.
