TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The 15th-ranked CSI Golden Eagle Men's Basketball Team suffered their third loss of the season Tuesday night, 84-79 to Arizona Western in a true road game in Yuma, Ariz.
Fresh off a gutsy comeback win a night ago, the Golden Eagles picked up where they left off with stellar three point shooting to help them jump out to a 39-33 lead at the half. The Matadors were able to claw their way back into the game in the second half thanks to their 55% shooting from the field, and were able to take advantage of 15 offensive rebounds that led to 19 second chance points. Ultimately, 23 CSI turnovers made the difference as the Matadors put up 51 second half points en route to the come from behind victory. The Golden Eagles were lead by
Amarco Doyle and
Dale Griffin on the offensive end, who had 23 and 19 points, respectively.
Khayri Dunn and
Isaac Hawkins each finished in double figures as well with 11 points apiece.
Tanner Hayhurst was effective on the glass as he pulled down a team high seven rebounds. The Golden Eagles will finish up their three-day Arizona road trip tomorrow afternoon, as they square off with Central Arizona College at 3 p.m.
