TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The 21st-ranked College of Southern Idaho out-scored Lane CC in the second half to beat the Titans 88-78 Saturday in the final game of the Wright Physical Therapy Shootout.
The two teams battled to a tie at the half 44-44. But the Golden Eagles tightened up their defense in the second half to pull away.
Lane shot 53 percent from long range in the first half and just 25 percent in the second half.
Five players scored in double figures for CSI, led by
Isaac Hawkins with 15 points. He also had 11 rebounds and four blocks.
Walker Timme and
Gerry Guerrero each had 14 points. Guerrero added three steals and Timme had eight rebounds.
The final two in double-digit scoring was Tanner Hayhust and
Khayri Dunn each with 12.
Amarco Doyle and
Nathan Ahner were solid as well. Doyle had seven points and six rebounds and Ahner had seven points and nine rebounds.
Jalen Lyn posted a team-high four assists.
CSI, 9-2 overall, goes on the road and won't return home for a game until Dec. 30.
