Box Score 2 SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball Team fell just short Friday to open its season at the UFirst Intermountain Invite at Salt Lake CC. The Golden Eagles lost to #7 Trinity Valley 25-22, 24-26, 25-13, 25-19 and #1 Florida Southwestern 25-15, 25-18, 25-16.
Val Sarti-Cipriani was solid in both matches, finished with eight kills and five blocks in the opener and then seven kills and two aces against FSW. For the say
Annie Nikolnikova had 10 kills and 10 blocks.
Leading the team in assists was
Janke Pretorius with 30 assists along with 17 digs and three aces. Defensively,
Chinaru Inoue posted 24 digs in the first match and 12 in the second one.
Sophomore
Alizaysha Sopi led the team in the second match with nine kills.
The Golden Eagles take on #3 Missouri State University West Plains Saturday at 9 a.m. and Daytona State at 3 p.m. to close out the opening weekend tournament.
