OXFORD, Ala. - The College of Southern Idaho had chances but just couldn't get the big hit when it needed it, falling to Butler College 4-1 Tuesday in the opening round of the NJCAA National Tournament.
The Golden Eagles stranded nine baserunners and plated their only run on a bases loaded sac fly by
Saige Nielsen. Nielsen finished the game 1-for-2 at the plate.
Tessa Hokanson was 1-for-2 with two walks and
Brylee Bigelow was 1-for-3.
Gracie Walters gave up three in the first inning but settled in and give up just one more run in the circle. Walters finished with four strikeouts in her six innings.
CSI will take on Gordon State Wednesday at 4 p.m. CT (3 p.m. MT) in an elimination game.
