SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Softball Team took care of business Monday, beating USU Eastern 6-1 in the opening round of the Region 18 Tournament.
Leading 2-1 on the strength of a solo home run by
Tessa Hokanson and an RBI bases-loaded walk by
Rachael Brown. Nielsen came to the plate in the bottom of the fifth inning with two outs and the bases loaded and crushed a ball over center field for the grand slam and the 6-1 lead.

Gracie Walters then shut the door. The sophomore gave up just two hits with three strikeouts for the win.
Hokanson finished the game 2-for-3 and
Reagan Rex was 2-for-3.
CSI takes on Salt Lake CC at noon Monday in the undefeated game.
