SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -
Gracie Walters and
Brooke Merrill combined to hold Salt Lake CC to two hits and one run in leading Golden Eagle Softball to a 2-1 win Tuesday in the Region 18 Tournament.
The win sends CSI to the championship game at noon on Wednesday.Â
Walters, who earned the win for the Golden Eagles, pitched 5.1 innings, giving up one run on two hits with two strikeouts. Merrill came in and pitched the final 1.1 innings, giving up no runs and no hits with one strikeout.
At the plate
Tessa Hokanson and
Gracie Tentinger each hit solo home runs to give CSI the win. Hokanson was 2-for-4 on the day and Tentinger was 2-for-3.
Markessa Jensen finished the day 2-for-3.
CSI will await the winner of Salt Lake and either USU Eastern and Southern Nevada.
