HENDERSON, Nev. - Despite outhitting Salt Lake CC Wednesday in the opening round of the Region 18 Tournament, the CSI Baseball Team lost to the Bruins 6-2.
The Golden Eagles finished the game with nine hits, while SLCC only had seven. But the Bruins got eight free bases via the walk.
CSI had three players finish the game with more than one hit.
Greyson Shafer was 2-for-3 with two double,
Colby Carter was 2-for-4 with two RBI and
Junior Garcia was 2-for-4.Â
Josh Trentadue earned the loss on the mound, going 4.1 innings and giving up four earned runs on four hits with nine strikeouts.
Brennen Chappell threw 2.2 innings, giving up an unearned run on two hits with seven strikeouts.Â
The Golden Eagles will now play USU Eastern Thursday at 3:30 p.m. PT in a loser-out game. The winner will play immediately following the game with a spot in the championship on the line.
