EPHRAIM, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Softball Team balanced great pitching with solid hitting to beat Snow 9-0 and 8-3 Friday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Gracie Walters continued her dominance in the circle, pitching all five innings of the game one run rule. The sophomore gave up no runs on two hits with 10 strikeouts.
In game two,
Brooke Merrill threw her first complete game since being sidelined with an injury in early February. The sophomore gave up just three runs on six hits with three strikeouts.
Offensively,
Saige Nielsen had the hot bat in game one. She finished 2-for-4 with a double, home run and five RBI.
Rachael Brown was 2-for-3,
Brylee Bigelow was 2-for-2 and both
Taya Manzanares and
Markessa Jensen were 1-for-3.
In game two, Jensen was 2-for-4 with a double, home run and four RBI, Brown was 2-for-3 with a double,
Gracie Tentinger was 2-for-2 and
Kenzee Hale was 1-for-2.
CSI will take on Snow again Saturday in a doubleheader beginning at noon.
