SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team went toe-to-toe for two games with Salt Lake CC but ultimately ended up falling to the Bruins 7-4 in game one and 7-5 in game two Friday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
In game one,
Greyson Shafer was 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI and
Colby Carter was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Dax Newman was 1-for-1 and
Eliot Jones hit a double.
On the mound,
Stone Cushing earned the loss, going 4.2 innings and giving up five earned runs on 10 hits with six strikeouts.Â
Trailing 7-0 in game two, CSI scored four runs in the eighth and one in the ninth but couldn't close the gap.
Candon Dahle earned the loss, going 5.2 innings and giving up seven earned runs on seven hits with six strikeouts.
Jordan Rowley pitched the final two innings and dominated. He gave up no runs on no hits with five strikeouts.
At the plate, no CSI player had more than one hit but
Junior Garcia and
Tyler Vance each hit a double.Â
CSI, 26-16 overall and 10-16 in conference play, takes on Salt Lake again Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at noon.
