TWIN FALLS, Idaho - College of Southern Idaho Baseball skipper
Boomer Walker won his 600th game Friday in game one of the Golden Eagles series with Colorado Northwestern. On Saturday, CSI split with the Spartans, winning 4-1 and falling 6-3.
Overall, the Golden Eagles claimed the weekend series, finishing 3-1.
Walker, who is in his 20th season as the head coach at CSI, has posted a 602-421 overall record as a Golden Eagle through today's games.
In game one Saturday, starter
Candon Dahle earned the win, going 4.2 innings and giving up no earned runs on one hit with six strikeouts.
Brennen Chappell got the save, pitching the final three outs with three strikeouts.
At the plate,
Greyson Shafer was 2-for-2 with a double and one RBI.
Colby Carter was 1-for-2.
CSI posted nine hits in game two led by a 2-for-4 performance at the plate from
Cole Rollins and
Sammy Richards.Rollins and Richardson each had a double.
On the mound,
Ashton Johnson earned the no decision, pitching five innings and giving up just two runs on five hits with five strikeouts.
The Golden Eagles, 20-8 overall and 4-8 in conference play, travel to USU Eastern Friday and Saturday.
