LUBBOCK Texas - The fourth-seeded Golden Eagle Women's Basketball Team controlled three quarters of the game and hung on in the fourth to beat New Mexico Junior College 61-58 Friday to advance to the quarterfinals of the NJCAA National Tournament.
CSI held a 52-41 lead through three quarters and watched New Mexico pull within one point with 1:35 remaining in the game. Both teams went scoreless until NMJC put the Golden Eagles top free throw shooter
Alyssa Christensen to the line with 10 seconds to go in the game.
The sophomore calmly sunk both to give CSI the three-point lead and the Golden Eagles got the defensive stop on the other end of the court to bring home the win.Â

Tylie Jones and Christensen were CSI's offensive spark all game. Jones finished the contest with 19 points and four rebounds and Christensen added 12 points, seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Point guard
Livia Knapp was solid, finishing with nine points, five rebounds and three assists.Â
CSI will take on the winner of North Dakota State and Blinn College Saturday at 4 p.m. MT.
