Golden Eagles add two more wins on Thursday against CCC

HENDERSON, Nev. - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team won a close one 2-0 before run ruling Community Christian 12-2 Thursday to complete the four-game sweep in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and that would be all the scoring for either team the rest of the way.
CSI finished the game with five hits, two coming from Dax Newman. He also had one of the RBI. Junior Garcia was 1-for-2 with a double, Logan West was 1-for-2 with a walk and Colby Carter was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Two runs is all the Golden Eagle pitchers needed. Candon Dahle earned the win, going 4.1 innings and giving up no runs on five hits with eight strikeouts. Jaxon Christensen got the save, going 2.2 innings and giving up no runs on not hits with two strikeouts.
Game two was all CSI. The Golden Eagles scored four runs in the first and never looked back.
Logan West was 2-for-3 with a double, Dax Newman was 1-for-3 with 2 RBI, Garcia was 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI, Carter was 1-for-1 with two walks and an RBI, Cole Rollins was 1-for-3 with a triple two RBI and Tyler Vance was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
Ashton Johnson got the win, going four innings and giving up no runs on two hits with four strikeouts. Brennen Chappell closed out the game, pitching the final one innings and striking out the side.
CSI, now 17-7 overall and 5-7 in conference play, travels to Colorado Northwestern next Friday and Saturday.
