TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The 11th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball Team struggled to string hits together, falling to Salt Lake 5-3 and 11-7 Friday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles scored their three runs in game one off a 2-run home run by
Gracie Tentinger and a solo shot by
Brylee Bigelow.Â
Gracie Walters earned the loss in the circle, going 5.1 innings and giving up five hits with five strikeouts.
In game two, Salt Lake jumped out to a 10-2 lead before the Golden Eagles scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth, highlighted by a
Makenzie Evans grand slam.Â
Saige Nielsen finished the game 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.
Rachael Brown was 1-for-3 with a double and Bigelow was 2-for-4.
Evans pitched the final 3.2 innings, giving up two earned runs on four hits.
CSI hosts Salt Lake again Saturday at noon for a doubleheader.
