HENDERSON, Nev. - The 12th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball bounced back from a 10-2 game one loss to beat Southern Nevada 11-9 in the second game Friday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles struggled to find any offense in the first game, finishing with just five hits.
Tessa Hokanson was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI and
Brylee Bigelow was 1-for-1 with a double.
Saige Nielsen and
Markessa Jensen had the only other two hits for the game.
Gracie Walters earned the loss in the circle, pitching the first 2.1 innings and giving up four earned runs on four hits.
CSI's bats came alive in game two. Nielsen was 4-for-4 with a home run, triple and five RBI.
Gracie Tentinger was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI and
Reagan Rex was 1-for-2.
Tessa Hokanson also hit a two-run home run in the game and Jensen added another hit on the day.
In the circle, Jensen earned the win, pitching the final 2.2 innings and giving up two earned runs on two hits with two strikeouts.
CSI, 13-6 overall and 1-1 in conference play, takes on Southern Nevada again Saturday for a doubleheader starting at noon.
