HENDERSON, Nev. - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball team lost to Southern Nevada 5-1 and 8-1 Friday to open Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles couldn't get their bats going in game one, finishing with four hits.
Brody Duvall,
Logan West,
Junior Garcia and
Eliot Jones each posted one hit. Garcia's was a double.
On the mound,
Josh Trentadue earned the loss, going 4.2 innings and giving up two earned runs on six hits with eight strikeouts.
CSI scattered seven hits in game two but didn't string any together to score runs. Garcia was 2-for-3 with a double and
Colby Carter was 2-for-3.
Greyson Shafer finished 1-for-3 with a triple and scored the Golden Eagles lone run.Â
Stone Cushing earned the loss, going 4.0 innings and giving up six earned runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts. Malcom Bartholomew pitched the final four innings, giving up two earned runs on five hits with three strikeouts.
CSI, 12-2 overall and 0-2 in conference play, takes on Southern Nevada for another doubleheader Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. PT
