CSI Baseball finishes non-conference schedule undefeated

TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho made it 12 wins in a row Saturday with a sweep of Treasure Valley CC 4-3 and 21-1 Saturday in a non-conference matchup.
The Golden Eagles trailed 2-1 into the bottom of the sixth inning.
Logan West, Greyson Shafer, Junior Garcia and Eliot Jones all singled to start the inning and the rally, West scoring on Garcia's single. Shafer scored on a sacrifice fly and Garcia scored on a fielder's choice to give CSI the 4-2 lead.
Treasure Valley answered with a run in the seventh but that would be all and the Golden Eagles escaped with the win.
Candon Dahle earned the win in the game, giving up no earned runs on three hits with nine strikeouts.
Game two was all CSI. Even though the Golden Eagles would have ended the game early with a run rule, both teams agreed to go the entire nine inning distance.
CSI finished the game with 18 hits and seven walks.
Chris Carter was 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBI, Kaden Schuck was 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI; Nate Rose finished the game 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI; and Logan West was 4-for-6 with a double and five RBI. Brody Duvall was 2-for-2.
Ashton Johnson earned the win, pitching four innings and giving up one earned run on five hits with seven strikeouts. Kaden Cloward, Kyle Bassett, Jacob Lewis and Seth McGrath all pitched in the game and combined to give up no runs on two hits with 10 strikeouts.
CSI, 12-0, opens its conference season next Friday, hosting USU Eastern.
