TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team used dominating pitching performances to sweep Treasure Valley CC 10-0 and 3-0 Friday in non-conference action.
Leading the way for the Golden Eagles was
Josh Trentadue in game one. The sophomore went the distance, giving up just one hit with 10 strikeouts. In game two,
Stone Cushing earned the win, pitching the first five innings and giving up no runs with 12 strikeouts.
Jaxon Christensen pitched two innings in middle relief, giving up one hit with five strikeouts and
Malcolm Bartholomew pitched the final two innings, giving up one hit with three strikeouts.
The Golden Eagles pounded out 10 hits in the opener.
Dax Newman led the way, going 3-for-3 with two RBI.
Colby Carter was 1-for-2 with one RBI,
Tyler Vance was 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI,
Junior Garcia was 2-for-4 with one RBI and
Brody Duvall was 2-for-4.
CSI added six more hits in game two. No individual had more than one hit.
Logan West was 1-for-3 with one RBI,
Greyson Shafer was 1-for-4 with an RBI and Newman was 1-for-2 with a walk.
Kaden Schuck, Vance and
Cole Rollins each had a hit.
The Golden Eagles, 10-0 overall, host Treasure Valley again Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at noon.
