SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The 10th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Volleyball Team lost to fourth-ranked Salt Lake CC Thursday in the Region 18 Championship 25-15, 25-21, 25-19.
But with a new format, the Golden Eagles still have a shot at a berth in the NJCAA National Tournament. CSI will travel to Yuma, Ariz. Monday to take on Arizona Western at 7 p.m. A win there would give them a spot at nationals.
After an emotional win Wednesday, CSI never could get going Thursday.
No Golden Eagle reached double-digit kills but Annie Nikolnikova led CSI with nine kill along with four blocks. Val Sarti-Cipriani added five kills and three blocks. Janke Pretorius had a team-high 18 assists and finished with a double-double when she also posted 12 digs. Defensively Chinaru Inoue led the Golden Eagles, finishing with 14 digs.
CSI is now 24-8 overall.
