PRICE, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Men's Rodeo Team will take a big lead into the second half of the season after winning the Utah State University Eastern Rodeo Friday and Saturday.
The Golden Eagles have 3,140 points through the first half with Weber State University in second at 2,055 points. CSI will kickoff the second half of the season March 8-9 at home for the CSI Rodeo.
The CSI Women's Team took eighth at USUE and stands in eighth overall.
The Golden Eagles had three event winners this past weekend.
Darien Johnson took first in Bareback Riding with
Sage Allen,
Coy Montgomery and
Tyson Hirschi rounding out the top four.
Carson Simper won Bull Riding and
Dane Haas took top spot in Steer Wrestling. Also placing in Steer Wrestling was
Kayden Skinner in third,
Jace Nelson in fifth and
Landen Roggenkamp in ninth.
Hank Whitaker placed second in Saddle Bronc Riding.
For the women,
Lacee Schliesser took second in Barrel Racing and
Katie Ayres took eighth in Goat Tying.
