SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball Team suffered its first loss of the season to fourth-ranked Western Nebraska 25-21, 25-18, 25-16 but bounced back to beat Casper 13-25, 25-23, 25-20, 21-25, 15-8 Saturday on the second day of the Salt Lake CC Tournament.
The Golden Eagles struggled to get anything going against the Cougars but the CSI middles were solid.
Anastasiia Nicolnikova and
Tommie Schaffner combined for 12 kills and two blocks.
Kalamela Liua finished with six kills and four digs. Defensively
Miyu Tsurumaki led the way with 12 digs and
Janke Pretorius had 13 assists and four digs.Â
CSI posted much better numbers in the match against Casper.Â
Pretorius posted a double double with 24 assists and 10 digs.
Alizaysha Sopi had a team high 13 kills in addition to 14 digs.
Kaulana Kalulu-Sugai posted 22 digs on defense. Schaffner was solid at the net, finishing with eight blocks. Liua added 11 kills.
CSI, now 6-1 overall, hosts the Starr Corporation Invitational Thursday, Friday and Saturday.Â
