TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho beat 20th-ranked Monroe College 16-25, 25-20, 25-17, 26-24 Thursday in the Starr Corporation Invite.
The Golden Eagles came out a little slow to open the match but fought back for the win.
Valentina Sarti-Cipriani led CSI with 13 kills. She also served the final four points of the match, trailing 24-22 when she went back to serve.
Alizaysha Sopi finished with eight kills, 14 digs and two solo blocks. She wasn't the only one with solid defense.
Kaulana Kalulu-Sugai posted 14 digs and setter
Janke Pretorius had 12 digs. She also led the Golden Eagles with 21 assists.Â
Kait White dominated at the net, finishing with eight blocks and seven kills.
CSI, now 7-1, takes on seventh-ranked Miami Dade at 3 p.m. and third-ranked New Mexico Military at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Matches begin at 11 a.m. Friday in both the CSI Gymnasium and the CSI Rec Center with the final matches slated for 7:30 p.m.
On Saturday, matches begin at 9 a.m. with the last matches of the tournament set for 3 p.m.
