SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball Team beat Northwest College 25-21, 25-20, 25-10 before getting its biggest win of the season so far, defeating 11th-ranked Central Wyoming 11-25, 25-21, 23-25 25-23, 15-11.
Several freshman stepped up and had big days on the court.
Against Northwest College,
Alizaysha Sopi posted 11 kills with just one error. She also had seven digs.
Janke Pretorius ran the offensen, finishing with 19 assists and five digs, while middles
Anastasiia Nicolnikova and
Tommie Schaffner combined for five kills and five blocks.
One of the best performances came from freshman
Valentina Sarti-Cipriani. The freshman posted 17 kills with just two errors.Â
Leading the way on defensive was sophomore
Kaulana Kalulu-Sugai, who ended with 11 digs.
The Golden Eagles battled through five sets with Central Wyoming.
Sopi finished with 11 kills and Sarti-Cipriani had 14 kills. Pretorius had a double-double with 26 assists and 12 digs. Schaffner and Nicolnikova each had four blocks. Defensively,
Miyu Tsurumaki led the Golden Eagles with 16 digs.
CSI, 5-0, takes on fourth-ranked Western Nebraska at 11 a.m. Saturday and Casper College at 1 p.m. Saturday.
