SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The third-ranked College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball Team took control early but a dismal fourth quarter allowed 14th-ranked Salt Lake CC back into the game and the Bruins prevailed 68-65 Saturday in a Scenic West Athletic Conference matchup.
The Golden Eagles led almost 37 minutes of the 40-minute game, but didn't hit a field goal the last five minutes of the game to give SLCC the win. CSI shot 21 percent from the field in the fourth quarter compared to 64 percent for the Bruins.
CSI was led by Ashley Christensen's 17 points along with four rebounds and two assists.
Kaylee Headrick added 13 points and seven rebounds and
Courtney Stothard had 11 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals.
The Golden Eagles drop to 12-2 overall and 4-1 in conference play, still remaining at least tied for first. CSI travels to Las Vegas for a tournament Monday-Wednesday.
