RICHFIELD, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball Team used a huge fourth quarter to get past USU Eastern 70-52 Friday and advance to the Region 18 Championship on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles trailed 32-27 at the half but out-scored USUE 27-11 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win. CSI shot just 30 percent from the field in the first half and a blistering 56 percent in the second, which was a complete flip flop for USUE. The Eagles of Price shot 48 percent from the field in first half and managed only 20 percent in the second.
Kaitlin Burgess led CSI with 22 points,six rebounds and two assists.
Courtney Stothard added 16 points and
Jordan Todd finished with seven points and seven rebounds.
The Golden Eagles outscored USUE from the bench 30-3 and out-rebounded USUEÂ 37-22, while committing just nine turnovers.
CSI will play Snow College in the Region 18 Championship at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Badgers upset Salt Lake CC in the semifinals Friday.
