TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball never settled into a rhythm Thursday, falling to 16th-ranked College of Southern Nevada 14-4 in the opening game of the weekend series.
The Golden Eagles couldn't overcome the pitching performance of Joey Magrisi, who struck out 13 CSI hitters in the seven innings. But as tough as he was, the Golden Eagles still had some bright spots.
Andrew Gregersen was 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI and
Jordan Scott was 1-for-3 with a triple.
Morgan Albrecht brought in two runs on a home run and
Magnum Hofstetter was 1-for-2.
Golden Eagle starter
Mason Olson earned the loss, going 3.1 innings and giving up nine earned runs on 10 hits with three strikeouts.
Tanner Clayton pitched the final three innings, giving up two earned runs on four hits with two strikeouts.
CSI, now 23-14 overall and 10-7 in conference play, hosts Southern Nevada Friday at noon for a doubleheader.Â
