HENDERSON, Nev. - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball team opened Scenic West Athletic Conference play Thursday with a 7-2 loss to the College of Southern Idaho.
The Golden Eagles tallied eight hits to just four for the Coyotes, but two errors and six walks proved to be too much to overcome.
Zach Schmidt was the only CSI player with more than one hit, going 2-for-5 at the plate.
Noah Hennings and
Tyler Curtis each went 1-for-3 and
Briggs Newman was 1-for-1 with a double.
Zack Petersen finished with an rbi triple.
On the mound,
Nate Dahle drew the start, going two innings. He gave up no runs on no hits with two strikeouts. Late in the game,
Ethan Horner came in to throw 3.1 innings, giving up one earned run on two hits with eight strikeouts.
CSI, 9-8 overall and 0-1 in conference play, takes on Southern Nevada for a double header Friday.
