TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team moved to 6-4 on the season with a sweep of Dawson CC 8-3 and 21-0 Friday in a home non-conference doubleheader.
The Golden Eagles jumped out on DCC 8-0 through five innings but Dawson battled, scoring three in the seventh.Â
Tyler Curtis went 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and RBI.
Jordan Scott was 1-for-2 with a home run and 3 RBI.
Crew Robinson and
Magnum Hofstetter were each 2-for-3. CSI was able to use four pitchers and all threw effectively.
Jayson Hibbard earned the win, going 2.0 innings and giving up no runs on just two hits with five Ks.
Carson Bonus and
Andrew Zmuda each threw two innings without giving up a run and combining for four hits and six strikeouts.
Ethan Horner threw the final innings and gave up one earned run on three hits.
Game two was all CSI. The Golden Eagles scored 15 runs in the second inning leading eventually to a run rule in five innings.
Robinson was on fire, going 3-for-3 with two home runs, a triple and four RBI. Newman Briggs was 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI.
Zack Petersen,
Zach Schmidt,
Braxton Mills,
Griffey Larsen and
Tate Gambill all went 1-for-2.
The Golden Eagles utilized three pitchers.
Taye Newman started and earned the win, going 2.0 innings and giving up no runs on no hits with five strikeouts.
Andrew Baughn followed with the exact same line.
Logan Bleazard came in to throw one inning and gave up no runs on one hit with two strikeouts.
CSI hosts Dawson CC for another doubleheader Saturday at noon.
