HENDERSON, Nev. - The 17th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball Team run ruled Colorado Northwestern 15-0 before falling to Southern Nevada 5-2 in the final day of the CSN Tournament.
The Golden Eagles finished with 10 hits against the Spartans, led by
Maya Williams. The sophomore went 2-for-2 at the plate with a home run, a walk and four RBI.
Camryn Willier,
Cortney Rhees and
Brynne Tolley were all 1-for-2.
Sophia Stoddard,
Payton Hammond and
Carley Croshaw each finished with doubles.
In the circle,
Gracie Walters shut down CNCC. The freshman gave up just one hit with no walks and six strikeouts.
In the Southern Nevada game, CSI out-hit CSN but a couple errors at the wrong time led to the Golden Eagles demise.
Sidney Eyre was 4-for-4 at the plate, while
Maggie Whipple went 1-for-2 with a walk.Â
In the circle,
Kenzie Waters earned the loss, going four innings and giving up two earned run on four hits.
Siera Horton threw the final two innings, giving up no earned runs on two hits with two strikeouts.
CSI, now 9-7 overall, opens the Scenic West Athletic Conference season March 5 against College of Southern Nevada.
