TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The 19th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball swept Southern Nevada 6-5 and 17-11 Friday in the opening weekend of Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles needed a walk-off home run in game one to secure the victory and needed a huge comeback in game two.
CSI trailed 5-3 heading into the bottom half of the seventh inning in the first game, when
Maya Williams led off the inning with a solo shot to pull within one.
Brynne Tolley followed with a double before
Maizie Clark hit her second home run of the game to give the Golden Eagles the victory.
Clark finished the game 2-for-3 with four RBI. Williams was 1-for-2 with a walk and
Sidney Eyre,
Cortney Rhees,
Caitlin Turner and
Brynne Tolley were all 1-for-3.Â
Siera Horton earned the win in the circle, going 1.1 innings and giving up one earned run on one hit with two strikeouts.
Gracie Walters threw 5.2 innings, giving up no earned runs on four hits with six strikeouts.
Game two was all Coyotes to start the game. CSN led 11-4 going into the bottom of the fourth inning. But a four-run fourth and a nine-run fifth was all the Golden Eagles would need.
CSI had home runs from
Carley Croshaw, Rhees, Williams, Turner and two from
Sophia Stoddard in the game.Â
Eyre finished the game 4-for-5 at the plate. Turner was 3-for-5 with five RBI and Stoddard was 3-for-5 with four RBI. Rhees finished 2-for-3 with three RBI and Williams was 3-for-4 with two RBI. Tolley was 2-for-4.

Jessica Touchard earned the win. She threw the final six innings, giving up five earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.
