CSI Baseball earns the split at home Friday

TWIN FALLS, Idaho - In a series of games all separated by one run, the Golden Eagle Baseball Team fell to Salt Lake CC 3-2 before bouncing back for a walk-off win in extra innings 5-4 Friday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Game one was a pitcher's duel. Each team managed just four hits but the difference was a lone unearned run that Salt Lake plated.
Kyler Murray gave up two hits and one earned run in 5.1 innings with three strikeouts in the loss. Ethan Horner relieved him and threw 1.2 innings, giving up no runs on two hits.
At the plate, Jackson Kohler was 2-for-3 with a double, home run and RBI. The other lone hits were by Noah Hennings and Charlie Tentinger.
Game two was a battle to the end. Trailing 4-2 going into the seventh, CSI tied it up to force extra innings. Colton Kent doubled to lead off the inning. Noah Hennings followed with a RBI double. Crew Robinson sacrificed Hennings to third before Hennings scored on a passed ball to tie it up. CSI followed with a line out and ground out to send it to the eighth.
After holding the Bruins, Tyler Curtis led off the eighth with a single. After a strikeout by CSI, Jackson Kohler singled to center to put runners on first and second. The Golden Eagles had another strikeout before Kent singled to shortstop and then Curtis scored on an error by the shortstop for the game-winning run.
Kent ended the game 3-for-4 with a double and a triple. Hennings finished 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and Curtis was 2-for-4.
On the mound, Caden Christensen earned the win, pitching the final .1 innings and getting the out. Taye Newman had a great outing, going 7.1 innings and giving up four earned runs on six hits with eight strikeouts.
CSI, 9-10 overall and 1-6 in conference play, host Salt Lake for the final game of the series Saturday at 11 a.m.
