TWIN FALLS, Idaho - Coming off a win Friday late, the College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team continued its momentum Saturday, scoring first in a battle with Scenic West Athletic Conference opponent Salt Lake CC. But the Golden Eagles watched it slip away as the Bruins scored in the second, third and fourth innings to pull away, taking the 8-2 win in the final game of the series.
Only one CSI player finished with more than one hit.
Griffey Larsen was 2-for-3 on the day.
Colton Kent posted the only extra base hit, powering a double. The other three hits were by
Zach Schmidt,
Noah Hennings and
Blake Maxwell.
CSI used five different pitchers in the nine inning game.
Layton Walls earned the loss, going 3.0 innings and giving up four earned runs on seven hits.
Caden Christensen threw a solid 1.1 inning late, giving up no runs on two hits with a strikeout.
CSI, 9-12 overall and 1-7 in league play, hosts Utah State University Club team Friday and Saturday in a non-conference series.
