LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team scored eight runs, including two home runs but it wasn't enough as the Golden Eagles fell to Scottsdale 15-8 Friday.
Neither team scored until the third inning when Scottsdale put up four runs and never trailed again.
Kyler Murray started for CSI and threw five solid innings, giving up six earned runs with six strikeouts. CSI used seven different pitchers in the game.
At the plate,
Jackson Kohler hit a two-run home run and
Briggs Newman went 3-5 with a home run, double and three RBI. Zack Schmidt also was solid at the plate, finishing 3-for-4.Â
CSI, now 3-5, returns home to host the University of Calgary Feb. 21-23.
