LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team beat Scottsdale CC Wednesday on a walk-off hit by
Colton Easton in non-conference action.
The Golden Eagles battled to a 3-all tie through nine innings. The Fighting Artichokes drew first blood in the top of the 10th, scoring one run on an error and single. But CSI answered with a run of its own.
Tyler Curtis got on with a fielder's choice and then moved to second, third and home on passed balls to tie it.
After holding Scottsdale, the Golden Eagles led off the bottom of the 11th with
Crew Robinson getting on base by hit by pitch.
Briggs Newman followed by getting on with an error, advancing Robinson to third. Newman stole second. After a pop out, Easton drove a ball to the fence for the game-winning RBI, scoring Robinson for the win.
Nate Gregerson and Robinson were the only CSI players to finished with more than one hit. They had two hits apiece.
Jayson Hibbard threw another gem, going six innings and giving up no runs on two hits with three strikeouts. But he earned a no decision. Matt Ruhal, who came in to get the Golden Eagles final out, earned the win, throwing to two hitters.Â
CSI, now 2-3 overall, takes on Scottsdale Thursday for a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m. PST.
