HENDERSON, Nev. - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team jumped out to a 5-3 lead through four innings Saturday but couldn't hold on, losing to the College of Southern Nevada 16-8 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Taye Newman, the Golden Eagles starting pitcher, kept Southern Nevada off balance for 4.2 innings but then CSI couldn't find the answer pitching five more players in the seven inning loss. Newman gave up three earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.
At the plate,
Noah Hennings was the lone Golden Eagle will more than a hit. He went 2-for-4.
Zach Schmidt,
Tyler Curtis and
Colton Easton each added a hit. Curtis finished with three RBI and Schmidt had two.
CSI, now 8-9 overall and 0-4 in conference play, hosts Salt Lake CC nex week.
