Golden Eagle Women punch ticket into Region 18 Championship Game

TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball Team battled to a 70-68 win over USU Eastern in the semifinals of the Region 18 Tournament Friday.
The Golden Eagles forced USUE to 19 turnovers and committed just nine themselves. They were out-rebounded but knocked down 44 percent of their shots compared to 37 percent for the Eagles. 
CSI held a 67-60 lead with 4:41 left to play but USUE fought all the way back pulling within one point on a layup at the 12 second mark. USUE then fouled Petra Farkas who knocked down one free throw to give CSI a two-point lead with 10 seconds to go. Finley Garnet then pilfered one of her four steals for the game as USUE attempted to drive the lane and the clock ran out.
Farkas led the Golden Eagles with 16 points. She added seven rebounds and four steals. Jordan Todd came off the bench and was a big presence inside, finishing with 12 points and five rebounds. Taylia Stimpson posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds and added five assists. Garnett also had a well-rounded game, finishing with eight points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals.
CSI will take on Salt Lake CC in the Region 18 Championship Saturday at 5 p.m. with a berth to the national tournament on the line.
